Change in Capstone and New Project

The last project wasn't going so well so I've decided on a new one: A comic. I'm not sure how long it will be yet, but I do have some kind of plot in mind.

The comic will start with a building on fire and children running from it. All of the children are in ragged clothing and dirty. A little girl stops running to turn back and watch the fire burn, then another child, a boy, grabs her shoulder and tells her to run. They run off together.

A few years later the two kids are in a middle school in South Korea. The girl, Anne, sits at her desk reading while another group of kids sits near the window talking about her. Anne listens in, then sees the boy, Grayson, run down the hall covering his mouth. The scene then cuts to Grayson outside sitting against the brick wall of the school in an isolated area holding his hand over his mouth. Blood starts trickling down from it. When he removes his hand we see a forked tongue and fangs. His fangs cut his lip. Suddenly a hand holding a rice ball comes out of no where. When Grayson looks up, it's Anne holding out a rice ball for him to take. She tells him to keep track of when to eat so his powers don't interrupt his day and cause him pain. They sit and eat together. As they chat, Grayson asks if Anne's been making friends. She says no, but that she's gained a stalker. After she says this, it is revealed that one of the girls in the group that was talking about Anne earlier followed her.

The scene changes to the end of the school day. Everyone is going home. Grayson ends up going to a friends house and says godbye to Anne before exiting the school gate. When Anne goes to walk out of the school gate, the girl that was stalking her earlier is there waiting for her. She smiles brightly at Anne and waves.

The scene cuts to the girls walking together, much to Anne's annoyance. The girl prattles on about how they can be such good friends, and how she thinks they have a lot in common. Anne interrupts her by telling her she doesn't even know the girl's name. To which the girl replies that her name is Park Chin-sun. Anne tells Chin-sun her Korean name that she uses in school, but Chin-sun tells her she wants to know Anne's "real name" as she's obviously not Korean. Anne denies this, and walks away from her. Chin-sun offers to pay for a coffee for Anne, to which Anne turns around and takes her up on her offer.

The two then go to a cafe where Chin-sun does most of the talking while Anne drinks her coffee. To Chin-sun's surprise, Anne resonds to something she said. When asked about it, Anne reponds that since Chin-sun bought her coffee, so the least she can do is listen to her. This makes the girl very happy and she begins to speak more enthusiastically.

Later that day, Anne arrives at the house she and Grayson stay at. Grayson is sitting at the island counter in the kitchen eating a snack when Anne walks in and goes for the cupboard for a cup. Grayson asks what she was doing earlier. She responds that her "stalker" took her out for coffee. He asks her why she allowed that, and Anne responds that she would never turn down free food or drinks. He asked what this "stalker" is like. Anne says "She's annoying and sweet", which Grayson find contradictory, but shrugs and smiles.

These are the pages I have done so far. I think the story might be ten pages in all. I might make another small comic as well, but my project will mostly consist of one comic, character sheets for the main characters and concept and background art.

New blog posts will be every Saturday/Sunday from here on out including Spring Break. My goal is to have the comic rough draft complete in 2 weeks, then work on revisions for a week, then line art. Not sure if I want to make the comic in color or in black and white.
